So how did it all start?
I think it started years ago at my grandparents’ house. That place sat right by the river, with the forest not far off. I’d spend the summer catching dragonflies all day long. Some things just stay with you forever.
Fast forward to now — I don’t like people much. Makes sense for a guy who started a hiking brand. Borderline boring.
I’ve always had to get things right. Pretty sure that comes from there too. Try catching a dragonfly flying full speed with a stick when you’re five — you will learn patience. You will learn to notice the small stuff. Oh yes, you will.
All of it kinda comes together: the love for outdoors, the patience, attention to the little things, all of it goes into every single t-shirt and every single customer email. All of it is the same to me.
This is who you are.
Make the best product.
Give the best customer service.
Or you missed that dragonfly mid-flight and you have to do better next time. Not that you’ll get a next time once you’re grown up.
